Building the Western Balkans’ First Fully Digital Bank

How Facilization Turned a Vision into Reality in Seven Months

When Jet Bank launched as the first fully digital bank in the Western Balkans on June 18, 2026, customers saw a seamless mobile experience, instant digital onboarding, and a banking journey designed for the smartphone era.

Behind that launch was a far more complex challenge: building an entire bank from the ground up in just seven months.

Long before Jet Bank had assembled its executive team, technology organization, or operational structure, its shareholders faced a critical question: who could take responsibility for bringing together the technology, expertise, and execution required to transform a banking license into a functioning digital bank?

Their answer was Facilization.

Facilization joined the project during its earliest formation stages, supporting shareholders in establishing the technology foundations required for launch. Selected as the founding technology partner, Facilization worked together with Jet Bank’s executive leadership team to design and deliver the end-to-end technology ecosystem required to launch a modern digital bank.

The mandate extended far beyond software implementation. Facilization was entrusted with defining the solution architecture, implementing the core banking and payments platform, integrating customer engagement and workflow automation systems, connecting payment infrastructures, and ensuring that all components operate as a single, secure banking ecosystem.

Following the successful completion of the Bank of Albania licensing process, Jet Bank moved forward with transforming its approval into a functioning digital banking platform.

Over a seven-month period, more than 25 Facilization consultants contributed to the project, engineering a best-of-breed banking ecosystem, that combined global banking platforms, Facilization proprietary solutions, and deep local banking expertise into a single operating digital bank. Facilization led and delivered the implementation of Oracle’s core banking and payments capabilities, delivered customer engagement, workflow automation and digital lending journeys using Creatio, supported the integration of Backbase’s AI-Native Banking Operating System with Oracle Banking, and the wider banking ecosystem. Complementing these global technologies, Facilization deployed its own proprietary products, including F-Analytics for regulatory and managerial reporting and F-Connect for payment connectivity and integration services.

The result is a unified, scalable, and AI-ready banking platform, tailored to Jet Bank‘s business objectives and regulatory requirements. On this foundation, Jet Bank can launch new digital products rapidly, adapt to regulatory changes, and continuously raise the bar on customer experience.

As Jet Bank expanded its internal organization and recruited more than 70 employees during the build phase, Facilization worked alongside the newly established teams to transfer knowledge, align operating processes, and maintain delivery momentum.

According to Gjergji Guri, CEO of Facilization, the greatest challenge was not the selection of technology platforms.

“People often assume that building a digital bank is primarily about choosing the right technology vendors. In reality, the technology is only one part of the equation. The real challenge is integrating multiple enterprise-grade platforms, coordinating several strategic vendors, onboarding an entirely new organization while it is being built, and connecting all the infrastructure required to operate a regulated bank. Delivering all of that within seven months required an exceptional level of collaboration, agility, and ownership, by all parties involved.” — Gjergji Guri, CEO of Facilization

The outcome is a bank that establishes a new benchmark for digital banking in the region. Jet Bank combines a cloud-native, AI-ready architecture with fully digital customer onboarding, mobile-first banking services, and instant EUR payments capabilities.

The bank enters the market with a pipeline of more than 75,000 prospective customers and a technology foundation designed to support rapid growth and continuous innovation.

“Jet Bank demonstrates that a fully digital banking model can be successfully built and operate in Albania using world-class technology, strong partnerships and a customer-centric approach. Our ambition is not only to deliver a better banking experience, but to help redefine expectations for banking across the region”.

— Fatbardha Rino, CEO of Jet Bank

For Facilization, Jet Bank validates a practical delivery model for helping banks move from ambition to launch with speed, structure, and long-term scalability

As regulators modernize frameworks and customer expectations continue to evolve, financial institutions increasingly require partners capable of managing the complexity of multi-vendor banking ecosystems while maintaining accountability for outcomes.

“Jet Bank demonstrates that world-class digital banking can be built in our region using the same technologies adopted by leading institutions globally. More importantly, it proves that there is a repeatable model for building digital banks and accelerating banking modernization. We believe this blueprint can help financial institutions across the Western Balkans and beyond deliver innovation faster and with greater certainty.” — Gjergji Guri, CEO of Facilization

For shareholders, customers, and the broader banking industry, Jet Bank represents a successful digital bank launch.

For Facilization, it marks the successful execution of something even more ambitious: helping build a bank from the ground up and creating a blueprint for the next generation of digital banking across the region.
